Integrated product & manufacturing process development (IP&PD)
ThyssenKrupp Drauz Nothelfer has devoted itself to optimised carbody manufacture. The basis of integrated product & manufacturing process development, however, goes far beyond the idea of simultaneous engineering (SE).
In this process, ThyssenKrupp Drauz Nothelfer assumes the responsibility both for the carbody as a product (quality, costs, time schedule) and for manufacturing process (quality, investment, life-cycle cost / LCC) in order to achieve the overall optimum of:
- product development time (minimum)
- flexibility of production (high)
- quality (high)
- costs (investment, LCC) (minimum)
