In the matching process all body components are carefully adjusted to each other in order to achieve optimum dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the components. To achieve this, prototype manufacture, tool & die and body-in-white department must co-operate closely with each other. If tooling and body equipment are not supplied from one single source, quality problems can only be solved by means of time-consuming analyses and correction loops.
